Practice Critical Mindfulness

Stone pyramids on sand. Practice critical mindfulness.

There are many ways to practice mindfulness through crulsing, which I call "critical mindfulness."

I initially viewed the mind and body as separate entities when I started my well-being journey. I quickly learned that this was not the case.

I needed to enhance my physical health and vice versa to improve my mental health. It's not a yin and yang dichotomy; rather, they are the same.

We often perceive emotional and physical senses as distinct, but they are part of a continuum. Our emotional and physical senses are essential for perceiving reality and reasoning.

You can't reason about what you can't sense. It helps to have a full range of physical and emotional senses to perceive objects, subjects, and their actions accurately.

We use our physical senses to observe an object or subject and our emotional senses to interpret the actions of those objects or subjects. Together, they create a comprehensive mental picture of the world. Our perspective may be flawed if any sense is missing, such as the ability to hear or discern someone's intentions. Consequently, our reasoning may seem sound based on our current perception, but if that perception is flawed, we can make poor decisions without realizing it.

Rationality can only be logical if one accurately perceives the world, which is challenging for everyone. We all have some flawed perceptions.

Think of logic, emotions (senses), and physical senses as the trifecta of perception of reality. The closer we align with reality, the more rational we can be.

Critical mindfulness seeks to improve logic, emotions, and senses.

Note: Critical mindfulness offers all the scientific benefits associated with other mindfulness practices, including breathing.

Most mindfulness practices focus on emotional senses, but critical mindfulness focuses on integrating logic and movement with mindfulness practice. It is not unique in this regard, as many other mindfulness practices involve movement. However, it uniquely emphasizes that all three aspects—logic, emotions, and senses—must be practiced mindfully to maximize benefits and sharpen our perception of reality.

I will cover the different types of crulse mindfulness practices in future writings and make them available for practice. Plus, I dive deeper into mindfulness from what I have learned and experienced. It is a little adventure for all.

Crulse well, practice critical mindfulness, and enjoy the journey of movement, my friend.

Happy crulsing!
